Day Trip to Portinatx in Ibiza
The quieter, northern tip of Ibiza has a mix of beautiful sandy beaches and rustic, rocky coastline. It’s also not as developed, providing lots of natural beauty, making a day trip to Portinatx in Ibiza ideal.
Portinatx
Portinatx used to be a small fishing village, and is still a sleepy little town. There are however, three beautiful beaches, each providing something different unique.
S’Arenal Gos, is conveniently located across the street from the main bus stop. The bus stop is also in a little shopping plaza with a small grocery store, making it perfect if you want to grab something for a picnic. There are also restaurants along the beach, so you can eat with a view.
In addition, Petit S’Arenal, is to the left of S’Arenal, past the rocks. It’s a smaller, more private beach.
For something more unique, Playa Porta, is a rocky beach near Moscarter lighthouse (below). You can also hike along this beach, all the way out to the lighthouse below, and beyond.
Or just explore the rocks closer to the city.

Hiking to Punta Moscarter Lighthouse and Beyond
I found a hiking trail that went out to Punta Moscarter Lighthouse and beyond into the rocky coastline.
To get to the trail, follow the road towards the Lighthouse, at the end you will find a hiking trail that leads along the cliffs to the lighthouse. It’s not marked well at the beginning, so you have to search for it. However, you will find yellow and white painted stripes on rocks along the path, once you find it.
The hiking trail continues out past Punta Moscarter lighthouse and further along the coast. It was beautiful (below)!
Overall, although the area is beautiful, since it is a little more remote and quieter, I think it’s best to make a day trip to Portinatx in Ibiza, rather than staying a few days. If a quiet stay is what you crave, or are with family, then it may be better to stay longer.
